Overview:

Periyar Maniammai University Entrance Test, shorts for PMUET, which is particularly meant for the students who want to show their excellence and test their skills to get entry into the field of competitive scenario. It helps the candidates to get admission in various Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Research level courses relating to the field of Science, Arts, Commerce and Engineering in Periyar Maniammai University. Periyar Maniammai University (PMU) is a deemed university, accredited under NAAC and is located in rural part of South India. Formerly, the university was called as Periyar Maniammai college of Technology for Women.

Eligibility:

PMU accepts and entertains talent on the basis of rank obtained by the candidates in various competitive entrance examination conducted at national and university level. For most of courses, PMU accepts direct admission on the basis of rank or marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

1. The marks or rank scored in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) / UNI GAUGE EMED helps to take admission in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch).
2. The rank obtained in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) / UNI GAUGE PG exam helps to take admission in Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Architecture (M.Arch).
3. Direct admission will be done in Under Graduate courses.
4. The rank obtained in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by PMU helps to take admission in Post Graduate, Ph.D and M.Phil courses.
Particularly, the candidates have to satisfy the following eligibility criteria to qualify for taking admission in B.Tech or B.Arch courses:
Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch:
1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 with compulsory subject as Mathematics with at least 50% marks as aggregate or 10+3 Diploma or International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with at least 40% marks in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The candidates are not supposed to go through PMU Entrance Examination.
2. The candidates are supposed to attach an attested copy of NATA score card along with application form to apply for admission in PMU in B.Arch.
Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech:
1. The candidates must have passed 10+2 examination level with compulsory subjects as Physics and Mathematics along with one additional subject out of Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Biology with at least 50% aggregate marks.
2. The candidates should have appeared for PMU entrance test and obtained good rank for the same.

Pattern:

The duration of PMUET will be 2 hours. The test will comprise total 100 questions which are based on multiple choice criteria including 5 sections of English, General Knowledge, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. No negative marking will be entertained for the wrong answers.
