Photonics Engineering

Course Details :

Photonics is the study of light and photons, which are the elements of light. Photonics is making the best use of laser, fiber optics, imaging and optics to make energy efficient products that are beneficial for the society. The process of application of information on photons, its detection and testing them is called photonics engineering.

Though the availability of this course in India is very less i.e. there are very few colleges/ universities that offer this degree course, but yet it is emerging as a new engineering degree course and is really in demand these days.

Eligibility Criteria :
For B. Tech

12th standard with minimum 50% marks (in PCM i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics group), from recognized board.
Score in an Entrance Exam i.e. JEE, TNPCEE etc. is also considered.

For M. Tech in Photonics Engineering

Applicants for M. Tech should have a graduate degree B.E/B. Tech in engineering with high percentage marks with a valid GATE score.

Degree & Duration :

B. E. / B. Tech. -- 4years
M. E. / M. Tech. -- 2years
