NIT TRICHY is an autonomous technical institute near the city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded as Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli in 1964 by the Governments of India and Tamil Nadu under the affiliation of the University of Madras. The college was granted Deemed University status in 2003 with the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Government of India and renamed as National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli. The institute is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research (NITSER) Act, 2007 and is one of the members of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) system, a group of premier Indian technical institutes governed by the Council of NITSER.
Placements :National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli popularly known as NIT Trichy is conducting its placement drive for the batch 2020-22 and despite of the pandemic 90% of the Undergraduate and 80% of the Postgradute students were placed. During Placements 2021, 86.5% of the UG batch & 83.3% of the PG batch got placed. M.Tech VLSI, VSE & N.D.T batches achieved 100% placements. A total of 283 recruiters visited NIT Trichy campus during its PG placement drive. Some of the prominent recruiters are HCL, Godrej, Texas Instruments, Morgan Stanley, Google, Honeywell. Every Year around 500 companies participate in the placement process. In the placement drive of 2020, 92% students from UG courses and 87.1% students from PG courses were placed. The Average Salary stood at INR 6 LPA & the Highest Salary stood at INR 42 LPA.
