College Details :

It was among the ten NITs sanctioned in the year 2009 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. NIT, Uttarakhand is fully funded by the Government of India. The institute started operating from the year 2010. The permanent campus of the institute is under construction in Sumari, Srinagar and it occupies over 300 acres of land.National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand is currently operating from its temporary campus which is situated in Garhwal, Srinagar at Government Polytechnic. The temporary campus also caters for the basic amenities of all the students. They provide for seven hostels for boys & girls, medical facilities, transportation for students and staff around the clock, a well equipped gymnasium, power backup, internet, canteen, ATM of SBI branch, auditorium, conference hall and open air theater.

Placements :

The institute has a Training & Placement Cell for its students. The T&P cell helps the candidates at all stages of placement and makes all the necessary arrangements for the recruiters. The percentage of students replaced in the year 2014-15 was 47.62. The companies that visited NIT, Uttarakhand campus for recruitment are namely BHEL, BSNL, BSNL, CETPA, NexG, NTPC, L&T Infotech, ONGC, SAIL, HP Education Services, Siemens, Aries, GE Energy, HCL, Career Blitz, Infosys, Nucleus Software, Mu-Sigma, Yoodle and many more.

Courses :

The institute offers B.Tech degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The admission to the B.Tech course is through JEE Main exam and the aggregate of marks scored in 12th standard board. The JEE Main exam has 60 % weightage and 12th exam has 40% weightage. NIT, Uttarakhand offers M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The admission to M.Tech course is through CCMT Test(Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan Admission).
