National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra

College Details :

In 1963 an engineering institute was established under the third five year plan by the name of Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra. The institute was renamed as National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra in the year 2002 by the Government of India under Ministry of Human Resource Development. NIT, Kurukshetra campus spreads on an area of 300 acres on scenic landscape.

The campus of National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra is divided in three sectors namely, hostels, instructional buildings and residential sector. The library at the campus has growing collection of text books, reference books, CD-ROMs, Video Cassettes, E-books and print & online Journals. The institute encourages its students to take part in sports activity to keep their body and mind fit. Sports like badminton, tennis, cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, basketball and Kabbadi are promoted by the institute. A gymnasium with well equipped and modern facilities is at NIT, Kurukshetra campus.

Placements :

The institute has a Training & Placement cell which invites the companies to the campus for recruitment. The T&P Cell at NIT, Kurukshetra helps the students at all the stages of placement process. Some of the past recruiters of the institute have been Tata Teleservices Ltd, Satyam, Altair, Data Patterns, Indiamart, HSBC, Amul, Globus and Copal Partners.

Courses :

NIT Kurukshetra offers 7 professional BTech courses, 22 professional MTech, MBA, MCA, and Ph.D. degrees. Candidates planning to enroll in any of these courses must take the appropriate entrance exam and be eligible to take the exam.
