National Institute of Technology (NIT), Meghalaya

College Details :

It was established in the year 2010. It is the institute of National Importance and is funded by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. NIT, Meghalaya or NITM is located in Shillong. The institute is ranked 15th among the NITs and top position among the ten new NITs by the National ranking (NIRF, MHRD).

NIT, Meghalaya houses a Central Library with the collection of approx 10000 text books, reference books and electronic resources. The institute accommodates it’s students in 5 boys and 2 girl hostels with wifi, mess, gym and sports equipments.

Placements :

It has a Training & Placement cell which helps its students in getting internship, jobs after graduation, arranging guest lectures and corporate grooming. The past recruiters that visited NIT, Meghalaya campus were Thought Works, L&T Constructions, Virtusa, Vodafone, Robert Bosh, HP India, L&T Infotech, Infosys, Wipro, IBM India, Tech Mahindra and Indian Navy (SSB Calls). In the year 2015, 115 job offers were given to the students and 85% of the eligible students were placed. In 2016, 96% of the eligible students were placed and the highest package offered was Rs.9.6 lakhs per annum and the average package for the same year was Rs.4.91 lakhs per annum.

Courses :

NIT Meghalaya offers UG and PG courses in various majors. The details of these courses are as follows :

BTech	10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board/University with minimum 75% marks
MTech	BTech/BE in relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CPGA
MSc	Bachelor’s degree in relevant stream with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized University/ Institute
PhD	Master’s Degree in Engineering/Science/Technology/Management Science/Arts with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA OR BE/BTech with minimum 75% marks and valid GATE score.

NIT Meghalaya Admission :

NIT Meghalaya admission process is done through the score of the national entrance examination. The admission process is online.
