Exam DETAILS

BCECEB term is well known as Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. It is a competitive examination conducting body which is responsible for organization of various contentious exams every year necessary to take admission in technical and professional courses related to the fields of Agriculture, Engineering and Medical within the state of Bihar only. There are total of 8 governmental and 12 private colleges or universities in which a candidate can get admission for respective core field. BCECEB has flown its wings and got its constitution under the act Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act,1995. The entrance exam conducted under BCECEB will consist of two stages and be held in the third week of month of June, 2024 approximately. To appear for the exam, a candidate will have to register him/ her online first and then can proceed towards its stages.

The candidates should satisfy the following eligibility criteria to appear for exam conducted:

• The candidate must possess senior secondary examination level with either 10+2 examination or equivalent diploma examination with minimum of 40% marks for candidates of reserved category and 45% marks for the rest.
• The candidates must have studied either PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) at their senior secondary level.
• Particularly, no age limit is followed for the candidates who want to appear for Engineering and Pharmacy courses whereas those who are planning to apply for Agriculture and Medical courses must be 17 years old as on July 01, 2024.
• The applicants must be a resident of Bihar state only.
• Those candidates whose parents are working outside Bihar as an employee of Bihar Government or in Bihar as an employee of Government of India or public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of Government of India, but are resident of Bihar state only, are eligible to apply for BCECEB test.

Stage I :In this stage, the weight-age of exam will be of 600 marks containing objective type or multiple choice questions. The duration of this stage will be of 2hrs and 15 minutes in totality and will be based on few guidelines as :

• Mode of examination will be offline
• Duration of examination will be 2 hours and 15 minutes.
• It will consist of objective type Multiple Choice Questions only.
• Total number of questions will be 150 each containing –
  1. Mathematics / Biology - 50 questions
  2. Chemistry - 50 questions
  3. Physics - 50 questions
• Each correct answer will carry 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answer.

Stage 2 : In this stage, the weight-age of exam will be of 1200 marks containing objective type or multiple choice questions. The duration of this stage will be of 1 hr and 30 minutes in totality and will be based on few guidelines as :

• Mode of examination will be offline i.e. paper and pen based
• The time of 1 hour and 30 minutes will be given for each subject separately.
• It will consist of Multiple Choice Questions only.
• Total number of questions will be 300 each containing –
  1. Mathematics / Biology - 100 questions
  2. Chemistry - 100 questions
  3. Physics - 100 questions
• 4 marks will be given for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
