Pattern :
  • BITSAT will be conducted in CBT format, that is, in the online mode from prospective dates inclusive of May 16th to May 31st.
  • The paper of BITSAT consists of 4 sections which comprises of a total of 150 questions.
  • The distribution of the questions in the BITSAT paper will be like – 40 questions from Physics and Chemistry section, 15 questions from English section, 10 questions from Logical Reasoning part and 45 questions from Mathematics section. Out of all, Mathematics will comprise of the maximum number of questions.
  • All will be multiple choice questions thatare of objective nature where candidates are supposed to pick one true answer out of 4 available options.
  • Since, there is no time limit for attempting the sections, so aspirants are allowed to follow their own time strategies for choosing questions irrespective of sections at any time. They can easily do other questions as per their own abilities.
  • For every correct answer, 3 marks will be given and for every wrong answer -1 will be given which will directly indicate that the exam comprises of negative marks too. Even though candidates attempt to guess the answers at time, still they should be careful while doing so. As carelessness can lead to failure or less score in the exam. The questions which are not attempted will either have no marks or zero marks for them.
  • As per the speed of the question attempting, if a candidate is able to revert to all the 150 questions within the allotted duration of 3 hours, precisely without skipping any question, an additional patch of 12 questions will be given to him/her which has an equal distribution of 4 questions from each section – Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. One thing should be kept in mind that he/she will not be able to make any modifications in the previously attempted 150 questions.
  • Since, the questions of the BITSAT paper are diverse in nature so it indicates that they are chosen from a large bank of questions. It means that not only the candidates will be given different sets of papers, but also they should be ready to crack the deal with their own problem solving skills and talent. The setters of the question papers are the members of an expert committee which makes sure that all the sets must have an equal level of content, questions and difficulty level.
  • The whole BITSAT paper is designed in such a way that it is an open opportunity for both average candidates and excellent candidates. The former one can solve all 150 within 3 hours and the later one can go for next 12 questions within time. It is an indirectly an open opportunity for the smart working students and pure talent to score much higher.
