It was declared as Institute of National Importance under Institute of Technology Act 1963, Delhi Technological University is the mother institution of IIT, Delhi. IIT Delhi BTech Admission :

BTech’s IIT Delhi application process usually starts with the main JEE registration. IIT Delhi BTech admission is based on the JEE advanced scores obtained by qualified JEE lead candidates. All IIT's centralized consulting process is managed and supervised by JoSAA, based on the seat allocation of all qualified JEE senior candidates. The seats are based on the IITD BTech deadline and the candidate's professional preference. JoSAA 2021 registration and option filling usually start in online mode from the third week of June. However, due to the COVID19 outbreak, the entire process was delayed. The IIT Delhi BTech admission criteria and annual seats are as follows:

IIT Delhi MTech Admission :

Admission to the IIT Delhi MTech Program in 2021 is based on GATE scores. However, BTech graduates of IIT with an overall CGPA of 8.00 (out of 10 points) are exempt from GATE and are eligible for direct admission. All shortlisted candidates will receive COAP consultation based on the seats provided by the seat availability. IIT Delhi MBA Admission :

The admissions of IIT Delhi MBA for telecommunications and general system management majors are based on CAT scores. Both MBA programs offer full-time programs for two academic years. However, the MBA in Technology Management is offered part-time, with classes in the evening. Its admissions are based on the candidates' performance in a statement of purpose (SoP) and several rounds of interviews. In addition to the above-mentioned PG courses, IIT Delhi also offers shipbuilding PG DIIT courses for candidates sponsored by the Indian Navy. The course lasts for one and a half years and is provided in cooperation with the Indian Navy. In addition, it offers PG diploma courses in Metro Rail Transit: Technology and Management for candidates sponsored by the Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC).

IIT Delhi Admission : MDes, MPP

At the PG level, IITD only offers full-time MD plans in one specialization. The plan lasts for two years. IIT Delhi MDes admission is based on valid CEED scores. This is an all-India level entrance exam, conducted by IIT Bombay, and includes a screening test and round of interviews. The Institute has launched a two-year new course in the School of Public Policy, the Master of Public Policy (MPP), for two years, focusing on the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) and Development of the School of Public Policy, starting from August 2021.
