It was the third IIT established in India in 1959. It is deemed as the institute of National Importance by the Government of India under IIT Act. It was an Indo German initiative. IIT, Madras is spread across 2.5 square kilo meters of area and resides around 550 members of faculty and 8,000 postgraduate and undergraduate students.IIT Madras has world class infrastructure. IIT Madras also offers BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) programme in full-time mode. The programme is offered for a duration of five years, comprising 10 semesters.

IIT Madras Admission : Online BSc

IITM offers the world’s first online BSc degree programme in Programming and Data Science. The course comprises four-week online classes, followed by a qualifier test. Those who get minimum required scores in the qualifier exam get to register for foundational-level courses. The programme is split into three levels that have to be completed strictly in sequence:

IIT Madras MTech Admission

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility requirements are different for both regular and sponsored category as given below:

IIT Madras Admission : MBA

IIT Madras MBA admission is based on CAT score, followed by candidate’s performance in PI round. IIT graduates who have obtained a CGPA of 8 or above are exempted from CAT score. Every year, IIT Madras releases the shortlisting criteria and also institute-specific qualifying cut off based on which it accepts the admission of eligible applicants. The final admission is granted on the basis of CAT score, past academic record, work experience, performance in PI round, academic diversity, gender diversity and other achievements.

The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is a 24-months degree programme, designed for weekend learning for working professionals. IIT Madras EMBA admission is based on application data, video case study test and PI round ( conducted in virtual mode).

At the PG level, IIT Madras offers MSc programme across three specialisations. The duration of programme three years, spread in a semester pattern. Candidates, need to appear for an all-India-level online entrance exam, namely IIT JAM for admission.
