IIT Madras Admission : BTech-MTech

IIT Madras also offers BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) programme in full-time mode. The programme is offered for a duration of five years, comprising 10 semesters.

Eligibility: Passed Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).

IIT Madras Admission : BS-MS

IIT Madras BS-MS (Dual Degree) admission is based on a candidate’s performance in JEE Advanced score. Eligible aspirants need to qualify for course and college-specific cut off rank released by JoSAA through seven rounds of counselling.

IIT Madras Admission : Online BSc

IITM offers the world’s first online BSc degree programme in Programming and Data Science. The course comprises four-week online classes, followed by a qualifier test. Those who get minimum required scores in the qualifier exam get to register for foundational-level courses. The programme is split into three levels that have to be completed strictly in sequence:

1. Foundational Level (8 courses)
2. Diploma Level (6 Programming courses + 6 Data Science courses)
3. Degree Level (11 courses)

IIT Madras Admission : MBA

IIT Madras MBA admission is based on CAT score, followed by candidate’s performance in PI round. IIT graduates who have obtained a CGPA of 8 or above are exempted from CAT score. Every year, IIT Madras releases the shortlisting criteria and also institute-specific qualifying cut off based on which it accepts the admission of eligible applicants. The final admission is granted on the basis of CAT score, past academic record, work experience, performance in PI round, academic diversity, gender diversity and other achievements.

The duration of programme is two years, spread across seven quarters. The eligibility criteria for IIT Madras MBA admission is tabulated below:

IIT Madras Admission : EMBA

The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is a 24-months degree programme, designed for weekend learning for working professionals. IIT Madras EMBA admission is based on application data, video case study test and PI round ( conducted in virtual mode).

A few seats are available for company-sponsored candidates. Required to produce sponsorship letters in the prescribed format from their respective employers. The eligibility and specialisation details for the programme are as follows:

IIT Madras MSc Admission

At the PG level, IIT Madras offers MSc programme across three specialisations. The duration of programme three years, spread in a semester pattern. Candidates, need to appear for an all-India-level online entrance exam, namely IIT JAM for admission. Further, the shortlisted candidates are allotted seats based on three rounds and two special rounds of CCMN Counselling. In addition to all the PG courses mentioned above, IIT Madras also offers a Quality Improvement Program (QIP) sponsored by AICTE. This is a 24-month program designed to improve the experience of faculty and staff from degree-level engineering institutions approved by AICTE.
