KEAM 2023 Overview :

KEAM, it is a very renowned and prestigious entrance examination for admission into a number of professional courses. It stands out as Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical Entrance Examination. Dating back to the history of the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in the state, we came to know about its establishment and operational workflow. Since 1983, it is working in the area of conducting entrance examinations for students in order to let them in a number of professional courses. The Higher Education Department in the Secretariat is holding the functionality of the administrative department and hence serving as the Commisionerate of Entrance Examinations. Being the Commissionerate, it has been conducting a total number of 13 entrance examinations every year for both Undergraduate and Post graduate courses. The Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical Entrance Examinations (KEAM) is the major oneout of these examinations conducted in a time bound manner and catering to the needs of the aspirants of Professional Courses every year. Around one lakh seventy thousand candidates participate every year in the Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical Entrance Examinations often called as KEAM. Three year LLB, Five Year LLB, LLM, MD Homo, MDS, MD Ayurveda, M.Sc Nursing, PG Medical and PG Super Specialty are few of the courses out of a long list other courses for which the CEE conducts Entrance Examinations. In addition to other courses, KEAM excels in other list of courses too. These are KEAM, LLB 3 Year, LLB 5 Year, LLM and P G Medical Courses. The allotments in these are made by Commissionerate, whereas the allotments to the rest of the courses are made by theconcerned authorities. Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) which is an online procedure specifically opened up for the candidate through a candidate friendly procedure in order to facilitate them with an option exercise, fee remittance at the designated Bankand subsequent allotment. This is dedicated to the admissions in Agricultural Courses and Medical Engineering field.

KEAM 2023 Eligibility Criteria :
  • Even though the persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) will also be considered eligible but stillat the prime Indian citizens will be eligible for admissions.
  • Although there is no upper age limit for KEAM 2023 but only one condition is there for age Limit that the candidates should be 17 years old by December 31, 2023 in order to be eligible for the examination.
  • As per the academic requirements the candidates are required to have completed their Higher Secondary Examination of Kerala or an equivalent examination from a recognized board as per State or Center government.
  • The candidates should have scored 50% marks in Mathematics individually and an aggregate of 50% in Physics, Mathematics andChemistry together for qualifying into the examination of KEAM.
  • The candidates should have scored an aggregate of 45% marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics togetherfor taking admissions into the B.Tech programs under Management Quota specifically in Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Collegesor Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges.

KEAM 2023 Pattern :
  1. The examination is conducted in the offline mode.
  2. Paper I and Paper II are the two different papers conducted under KEAM.
  3. Both Papers- I and II will be of 2.5 hours duration.
  4. Since these papers are multiple choice questions based, so candidate has to choose the right answer out of the options given.
  5. A total of 120 questions will be present in each paper constituting to a total of 480 marks which means that each question will be of 4 marks.
  6. Most important of all, leaving even a single question unanswered will make you disqualify from the examination of KEAM.
