National Institute of Industrial Engineering is considered as one of the opening institute of Industrial Training and Engineering, located in Powai near Vihar Lake in Mumbai, India. It was formerly known as National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering (NITIE). The concept of institute was to start off industrial training and engineering but nowadays, it offers Full Time Fellow Programme in Management/ Fellow Programme in Industrial Engineering, Post Graduate programs in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Industrial Safety And Environmental Management, Manufacturing Management, and Project Management. The showcase of excellence of the institution can be well thought- of from its recognition level. It is very well recognized as one of the 15 excellent institutes of industrial training and engineering programmes, 7 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 6 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India. NITIE has been ranked at 12 among management schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2017 and at 13 by Business Today's "India's best B-schools 2016". The candidates, who are from Industry / Academia with above eligibility and a minimum of two years experience, are also eligible.
Pattern :The admission pattern of NITIE's flagship PGDM programme starts with shortlisting of candidates in Common Admission Test (CAT) followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview Round. The score of Common Admission Test is not mandatory for sponsored candidates belonging to Industry/ Academia. The candidates are supposed to apply within 10 days of declaration of Common Admission Test result.
