College Details

This institute is located in Jalandhar, Punjab. Commonly known as NIT, Jalandhar it was established in the year 1987 by the name of Regional Engineering College. The institute got it’s present name in the year 2002 and was given the status of deemed university in the same year. NIT, Jalandhar is fully funded by Central Government. The NIT, Jalandhar campus spreads on an area of 154 acres of land. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar has eight boys’ and three girls’ hostels with all the basic amenities. The institute caters it’s guests in Guest House which have feel at home atmosphere. The campus accommodates a three storied library with enormous collection of books, journals, cd-roms, video cassettes, etc. The other facilities at NIT, Jalandhar campus are namely, banks, bus transport, canteen, dispensary, central seminar hall, gymnasium, open air theatre, post office and a shopping centre.

It has a Training & Placement cell which helps its students in getting jobs after graduation. The highest package offered to the student of ECE in the year 2014-15 was Rs.10 lakhs per annum and 106 students of ECE department were successfully placed. The highest package offered to the students of Industrial & Production Engineering (2011-2015) was Rs 10 lakhs per annum and the no of students placed were 65. Approximate 70 students were placed in 2014 from Computer Science & Engineering. NIT, Jalandhar has signed a MoU with companies like Infosys Technologies, TCS, Accenture and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for training and placement of its students.

The institute offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in engineering. The B.Tech degree course is available in Bio Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Textile Engineering. The admission to B.Tech course is through JEE Main and DASA entrance exam. NIT, Jalandhar has M.Tech degree course in Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Security, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, VLSI Design, Manufacturing Technology, Structural & Construction Engineering and Textile Engineering & Management. The admission to M.Tech is conducted through Centralized Counselling i.e. CCMT.
