College Details :

It was founded in 1956 as Govt. College of Mining & Metallurgy with two engineering disciplines, mining and metallurgy; the institute is one of the oldest of its kind in India. Later the inauguration of the Institute building was done by our Prime Minister Honorable Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 14th March 1963. From 1st December 2005, the institute has become the National Institute of Technology. It is a technical institution funded by the Government of India, located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Dr. Sudarshan Tiwari is the director of National Institute of Technology, Raipur. The ABP News National Educational Awards 2014 has selected NIT, Raipur to honor with Outstanding Engineering Institute (North) for the contribution of the Institute in the field of Engineering from North Region. The institute is committed to the challenging task of development of technical education by preparing seasoned graduates in highly sophisticated field of engineering and technology.

NIT, Raipur which was earlier a mining college, is roughly 50 years old, and somehow manages to look even older. The laboratories and classrooms are sufficient. The library is with a very 'first come, first serve' environment, but fortunately has a huge reading room which can accommodate a substantial number of students. There are a couple of grounds for cricket, volleyball, etc. The institute has 5 boys' hostel within the campus and presently there are two girls' hostels in the campus.

Courses :

NIT Raipur offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in 19 departments. At the UG level, the NIT Raipur program includes a four-year Bachelor of Technology and a five-year Bachelor of Architecture. At the post graduate level, the NIT Raipur course includes a two-year M.Tech and a two-year MCA. All UG courses are eight semesters long, while PG courses are four semesters.

NIT Raipur Admission Process :

NIT Raipur allows admission to the UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs based on the effective scores of the different entrance exams. Candidates applying for the NIT Raipur 2021 admission process must also apply for the admission test related to the course. The admission process for all NIT Raipur courses in 2021 is online. The application form is available on the official website. Once the deadline for a specific entrance exam is posted, the admissions process begins.
