ENGINEERING COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (ECET)

 
Overview :

ECET FDH, commonly referred as an engineering entrance exam dedicated for diploma holders. Even the name of the exam extends like that and is called as Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders. It is particularly organized by the government of Andhra Pradesh through its State Council for Higher Education i.e. APSCHE. Majorly the diploma holders and B.sc Mathematics applicants are covered through this examination.

Eligibility :

The eligibility criteria for the examination are as follows :

  • The first condition for the examination is that a candidate should be Indian or of Indian Nationality.
  • Along with the above, he/she should be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • For admission into B.E. /B.Tech., a candidate must hold a necessary diploma of Engineering and Technology. Even a pharmacy course from a recognized board of technical education in Andhra Pradesh along with any Diploma obtained from the Government of Andhra Pradesh will be considered equivalent for getting through this entrance.
  • Candidates who have passed a 3-year B.Sc. degree from a recognized university or institution along with Mathematics as one of the subjects is equivalent for entering into relevant courses.
  • Candidates who have passed B.Sc. degree with atleast 45% marks or Diploma in Engineering and Technology/Pharmacy holders are eligible to apply for the entrance examination. In case of SC/ST/OBC candidates, 40% marks are the eligible criteria for getting through ECET FDH.

Pattern :

The pattern for the entrance examination is as follows :

  • Specifically for the B.Tech. Program, the entrance exam comprises of three subjects –Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry where each section consists of 50, 25 and 25 questions respectively.
  • In totality, ECET FDH comprises of 100 questions.
