AIT, well known as Army Institute of Technology is situated at Dighi Hills, Alandi Road Area, Pune and Maharashtra, India. As the name implies, the Army Institute of Technology i.e. AIT offers UG engineering courses only to the wards of army personnel. Being affiliated to University of Pune, it is a well renowned body of imparting technical courses. JEE MAINS exam is the base of getting admission into AIT. Army Welfare Education Society(AWES) monitors the functioning of AIT. Since, AIT belongs to Indian army, therefore the senior most officer of the Indian Army, that is, the Chief of Indian Army (COAS) heads AIT by holding the position of President of its Boards of Governors.

The eligibility criteria for AIT are as follows:

• The applicant must be an Indian Citizen
• One must be 12th passed from a recognized board of education with mandatory subjects – Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
• Rank based admission process is followed. On the basis of rank only, admission is allowed and even scholarships are provided by the college to deserving candidates.
• As the entrance examination is conducted at national level, the student must secure at least an aggregate of 40% in respective subjects – Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics for being eligible for the entrance examination.

JEE MAINS rank is the basis of admission into Army Institute of Technology (AIT). The following courses along with number of seats are offered by the college:

• Computer Science and Engineering with 60 seats
• Mechanical Engineering with 60 seats
• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with 60 seats
• Information Technology with 60 seats
