Overview :

Associate Member of Institution of Engineers often called as AMIE is an engineering entrance examination which is conducted by the reputed institution of engineers in India particularly targeted at those students who are not able to pursue the engineering courses in a regular fashion. This engineering entrance examination stands out because of its flexible approach towards education.

Eligibility :

The eligibility criteria for AMIE are as follows:

  • The applicants or the students applying for AMIE(Associate Member of Institution of Engineers) should be at least of 18 years on the date of filling application for further selection
  • Minimum 45% marks in aggregate is required along with a qualification of 12th passed
  • The exam is supposedly held twice every year – May or June( Summer) and November or December (Winter)

Pattern :

The exam pattern of the AMIE examination is as follows:

  • Just like other engineering entrance examinations, it is also based on MCQ methods i.e. Multiple Type Questions or Objective questions.
  • The exam is conducted in two modes- Online and Offline. Hence, a Computer Based Test (CBT) and Paper Based Test (PBT) approach is followed for these modes.

AMIE Application Process :

  • Step 1: Open the official website of AMIE 2024 (www.ieindia.org), and click on the tab- 'Apply Online'
  • Step 2: Register yourself and create an account.
  • Step 3: Fill the information in the Registration Form with Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, Password, Interested Area. Then click on “Submit Request”
  • Step 4: A profile will be created and the applicant will receive a Membership Number.
  • Step 5: In the next step, the applicant would be asked to log in and fill in the Application Form with Personal, Academic, Communication details.
  • Step 6: Pay the fees online (Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking) and take a printout of the confirmation page.
