MANIPAL ENTRANCE TEST (MET)

 
Overview :

MET – Manipal Entrance Test - an exam, conducted by Manipal University for admission in undergraduate engineering courses. It is conducted annually and meant for Science stream candidates, who have scored 50% marks or more in senior secondary.

Eligibility :

Before starting the application form filling process for the same, the candidates should check its eligibility to mark their level and decide whether they can appear for the same or not. The candidates should meet following criteria as:

  • One should have passed senior secondary level or are currently in final year of senior secondary level.
  • One should have passed senior secondary level/ American 10+2 Grade/ A-Level/ IB(International Baccalaureate) or an equivalent level with English, Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects.
  • 50% marks or more in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects are mandatory.

Pattern :

An exemplar format construct is provided to act as a guideline for the applicants to have a thorough understanding about the scheme of exam. Since every test scheme comes with its own set of rules, here are some for the same, discussed below:

  • Mode and Duration - The test will be conducted online for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Marks distribution- It will consist of 200 multiple choice questions from various subjects like English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and General Aptitude. The bifurcation of marks can be as –
    1. Mathematics - 70 marks
    2. Physics - 50 marks
    3. Chemistry - 50 marks
    4. English & General Aptitude - 30 marks

Marking Scheme

4 marks for every correct answer. For MCQs, 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. For NAT questions, no negative marking will be done.

Candidates can access their MET admission ticket (electronic ticket) 24 hours after the time booked through the online exam booking system.

Candidates can download their MET admission ticket by filling in their application form number and exam booking password online on the official entrance exam website.

The e-hall ticket will also be emailed to the email address mentioned by the candidate in the application form.
