DTU often referred as Delhi Technical University is an engineering university which is located at the national capital of India, New Delhi. It is formally known as Delhi College of Engineering as well across the nation. Having the status of Delhi’s first engineering college, it is considered as one of the oldest engineering colleges in India with deep roots and study base. It has been under the control of Government of India since the time of its establishment in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic College. After that, the history of the college changed gradually as it came under the National Capital Territory of Delhi in 1963. From 1952 to 2009, it was affiliated with the University of Delhi. Since the college has been given the status of University in 2009, it was bound to change its name from earlier one to Delhi Technological University. Up to the year of 2009, the reputed Delhi College of Engineering and its other branch called as Netaji Subash Institute of Technology shared their procedure and syllabus for various B.E. courses under the direction of Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi. The courses offered by the Delhi Technical University are – B.Tech i.e. Bachelor of Technology, M.Tech i.e. Master of Technology, Ph.D. i.e. Doctor of Philosophy and M.B.A. i.e. Master of Business Administration. It possesses a strong emphasis over a total number of 14 departments which are academic based and deals with science, research studies and technological education.

The eligibility criteria for getting admission into Delhi Technical University are given below in detail:

• The candidates looking for the B.Tech programs at the prime first need to finish their senior secondary level or 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology being their main subjects from a reputed and recognized board of education by acquiring a minimum of 60% marks in it.
• For Delhi based candidates: Any candidate who has passed Standard XII with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with minimum 60% aggregate marks in it from a recognized school located in Delhi is eligible to apply for B.Tech admissions at DTU.
• For candidates outside Delhi: Any candidate who has cleared Class XII with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with minimum 60% aggregate marks in it from a recognized school located outside Delhi is eligible to apply for B.Tech admissions at DTU.

Delhi Technical University follows its own standards and pattern for the exam. That is, DTU usually arranges its own exam and moreover, the admission for the courses is even made on the basis of JEE ranks.
