It is the study of how food science is applicable in food preservation, processing, packaging and distribution. Food Engineering also helps one learn the techniques of transforming raw material into safe, nutritious, wholesome ready to eat food. In this course one is also taught about removing toxins and adding flavor to the food items. The increasing demand in packaged and processed food has increased the demand for food engineers.
Degree Awarded :The aspirants for undergraduate degree in B.E/B.Tech, should have passed 12th standard examination in physics, chemistry and mathematics. The candidate should have also cleared entrance exams with good score. The entrance exams for the course are naming a few JEE, WBJEE and BITS.
For M.Sc/M.Tech one should be a graduate in B.E/B.Tech with 60% marks and have a valid GATE score for the admission.
